Pairing your Free Gmail email account with an email outreach tool like Linkio can be a tricky process because of some Google security settings. This step-by-step guide will make it easy to do.

Turn off 2-Step Verification

Go here: https://myaccount.google.com/security

In the "Security" section, select 2-Step Verification. You might need to sign in.

Select Turn off.

Allow access to less secure apps

Go here: https://myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps and allow access to less secure apps

Basic setup in Linkio Outreach

Go here: https://app.linkio.com/eo_inboxes_settings

Click “Add Inbox” and select “Add Custom Inbox”

Outgoing SMTP
Host: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 587

Incoming IMAP
Host: imap.gmail.com
Port: 993

Save the Inbox and then open it up again and click “Test Deliverability” button. You will probably get an error message that says “Failed to verify deliverability. Cannot send email, original error was: 534-5.7.14..."
Check if Google blocked the access with a security alert

Check your inbox for a security alert message or go here: https://myaccount.google.com/security

If it did, open the alert and select “It was me” to override the block.

Try to Test Deliverability again. If the same error message occurs, do this

Go here: https://g.co/allowaccess

Click the continue button.

Click “Test Deliverability” again. If it doesn't work, try this

If that still doesn’t work, Open a new Incognito browser window in Chrome.

Go to Gmail.com and sign into the email account you’re trying to pair.

Once signed in, open a new incognito tab and open this URL again: https://g.co/allowaccess and click the Continue button

Click "Test Deliverability" again

It should work now
